Introductory text
A world first, in 1951 Citroën brought out a delivery van with front-wheel drive, a by-product of the much loved 2CV! A successful project after the little Type G van, which was cancelled.
Practical, robust, easy to maintain, economical… The 2CV delivery van had all the qualities of a cult car.
Its journey over 3 decades spurned many by-products. The 2CV AZU equipped with a 425 cm3 engine from the 2CV AZ in 1954. The 2CV AK 350 in 1963, equipped with a 602 cc engine from the Ami 6, replaced by the 2CV AKS 400 in 1970. These bulkier by-products were superior in payload and always completed the range of their performances with style: they followed the evolutions of the 2CV Saloon throughout its career.
Our beautiful delivery vans faded out in 1977 with the rise of the Acadiane, a perfect blend between the AKS and the Dyane.
